How to Keep Your Snaps Hidden on Snapchat

how to delete my eyes only on snapchat

Are you worried about someone stumbling upon your embarrassing snaps on Snapchat? Well, worry no more! Snapchat’s “My Eyes Only” feature allows you to hide pictures from prying eyes, ensuring that your most private moments remain private. And the best part? It’s easy to use and provides an extra layer of security for your personal snaps.

Can You Delete My Eyes Only?

The “My Eyes Only” feature cannot be turned off or deleted in the traditional sense, but don’t worry; there’s still a way to clear it out. To remove pictures from the “My Eyes Only” tab, you simply need to delete them individually. This way, you can still keep the feature active but without any content in it. You can also make the passphrase easier to remember by changing it.

How to Turn Off My Eyes Only on Snapchat

While you can’t turn off the “My Eyes Only” feature entirely, you can completely empty the folder. Here are the steps to follow:

Deleting All Of The Snaps In My Eyes Only

  1. Open your Memories tab. It’s the icon of two pictures located at the bottom, below the Shutter button. Tap it or swipe upwards to open your Memories.
  2. At the top, select the My Eyes Only tab.
  3. Punch in the correct passcode or passphrase you created.
  4. Tap and hold a picture that you’d like to remove from “My Eyes Only.” Once selected, you can choose more pictures with a simple tap.
  5. Once you’ve chosen the pictures you want to move back, select Move at the bottom of the screen. This will remove the selected pictures from “My Eyes Only” and place them back in your “Snaps” tab.

Please note that deleting all the memories in the “My Eyes Only” folder doesn’t remove the folder itself. It simply means there will be no more memories in it.

Use The Forgot Passcode Option

If you want to completely clear “My Eyes Only,” you can use the “Forgot Passcode” option. However, be aware that this will delete all the snaps in the “My Eyes Only” section. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Swipe left in Memories to the My Eyes Only tab.
  2. Tap Options at the bottom.
  3. Tap Forgot Passcode.
  4. Enter your Snapchat account password and tap Next. (Note: Your Snapchat account password is different from your My Eyes Only passcode).
  5. Read the information and, if you agree, tap the circle icon and tap Continue.
  6. Create and confirm your new passcode.

Remember, if you forget your current passcode and choose to reset it, you will lose everything currently saved in “My Eyes Only”!

Empty My Eyes Only

If you want to empty “My Eyes Only,” you’ll need to delete each snap individually from the section. Unfortunately, there is no way to empty the section all at once. You’ll have to select each snap one by one and choose to unhide or delete them.

How to Remove Password From My Eyes Only on Snapchat

Removing the password from “My Eyes Only” is not possible, as the purpose of this feature is to keep your snaps protected. If you don’t want to enter a passcode every time you want to access “My Eyes Only,” you can unhide the snaps and leave them in your Memories section. This way, you can still view them without a passcode. However, once you’ve deleted the snaps from Memories, you won’t be able to remove them from “My Eyes Only” and leave them in your Memories.

Alternatively, you can export the snaps from “My Eyes Only” and upload them to your Memories from the camera roll section. This will allow you to view them without a passcode.

Turning On “My Eyes Only”

Before you can remove anything from “My Eyes Only,” the feature needs to be turned on, and you need to have memories saved in that folder. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Locate and launch the Snapchat app.
  2. Log into Snapchat, if you aren’t already logged in, with a valid Snapchat account and the correct passphrase.
  3. Open your Memories tab by tapping the icon of two pictures located at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap and hold a picture you’d like to hide. Once selected, you can tap on more pictures if desired.
  5. Select Move at the bottom of the screen.
  6. When prompted to move the pictures to “My Eyes Only,” select Move once again.
  7. Now, you have the option to create a numbered passcode. Enter your desired passcode and confirm it. Alternatively, you can choose a passphrase by selecting “Use Passphrase” at the bottom of the input section.

Remember to write down your passcode or passphrase and keep it secure. Forgetting it means there is no way to retrieve it!

Now that you know how to use Snapchat’s “My Eyes Only” feature, you can ensure that your personal snaps remain hidden from prying eyes. So go ahead, snap away, and enjoy the added privacy and security!
