We want to ensure you have the best user experience possible, which is why we’ve made some updates to our PSN Terms of Service and User Agreement (“Agreement”). These changes are effective immediately starting from 14th December 2023. By continuing to use the PSN, you agree to these updated terms.
The Most Important Changes
We’ve made several updates to the Agreement. Here’s a summary of the key changes:
Providing Accurate Information
We now require you to provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your account. This can be found in Sections 6.2, 6.3, and 6.4 of the Agreement.
Updated Definition of “Authorised Systems”
The definition of “Authorised Systems” has been clarified. For more details, refer to Section 7.
Access to Products and Content

We’ve clarified the terms of access to Products, content, or services offered by publishers or entities other than us. You can find this information in Section 8.3.
Account Security
To prevent unauthorized payment transactions, we’ve updated the steps you should take to safeguard your account and our account security settings. Check out Sections 9.3 and 9.5 for more information.
Explaining the Agreement to Child Family Members
We have updated the requirements for explaining the Agreement to Child Family Members in Section 10.4.2.
Support for Children in Distress
We may now take action if we believe that your Child may be in distress. In such cases, we may direct you to third-party services for assistance. Please refer to Section 13.4 for further details.
Cancellation Rights and Purchases
We have clarified the information and processes relating to your cancellation rights when purchasing any Product. Find more details in Sections 15.2.1 and 16.2.
Restrictions on Software and Virtual Items
We’ve updated the restrictions on the use of viruses, spyware, or automated software (such as bots or scripts) in Section 20.3. Additionally, the definition of “Virtual Items” and the restrictions on their use, collection, and transfer can be found in Sections 20.16 to 20.18.
Sales Offers and Promotions

Our policies regarding sales offers and promotions have been updated and may now be subject to additional terms and conditions. Please review Section 20.19 for more information.
Actions for Violations or Compromised Accounts
We may take action if we have evidence to conclude or reasonably believe that you have violated the terms of the Agreement or if your account has been compromised. These actions are outlined in Sections 5, 24.1.2, 24.3, and 24.4.
Applicability of Legislation (For New Zealand Consumers)
For consumers based in New Zealand who are acquiring any Products in trade, we have clarified the applicability of relevant legislation in Section 25.5.4.
Consumer Rights and Remedies (For New Zealand Consumers)
For consumers based in New Zealand, we have updated the notice that sets out your consumer rights and remedies under New Zealand laws. Please refer to Section 32.2 for further details.
While we’ve provided a summary of the key changes above, we strongly recommend reviewing the revised Agreement in its entirety so you understand all the updates.
