How to Restore Your Recorder’s Display Resolution to Factory Default

If you’ve tried changing the display output of your recorder to a higher resolution but your monitor doesn’t support it, you may experience issues like losing video signal, a black screen, or losing the live view. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! This troubleshooting guide will help you restore your recorder’s display output to its factory default resolution so that you can enjoy live viewing your cameras on your monitor again.

Before Changing the Display Output

Before you dive into changing the display output, make sure to verify and ensure that your monitor can support higher resolutions, especially 4K. Otherwise, you may encounter issues with video signal loss. It’s always better to double-check and avoid any inconveniences.

Part 1 – NR900 Series and N881/N882 Series

If you own one of the following recorders – NR900, N881, N882, or N883 – follow these steps to restore your recorder’s default display output:

  1. Plug in your recorder.
  2. Press and hold the FN (function) button until the system restarts.

After the reset, your recorder will display the lowest available resolution to ensure compatibility with a variety of low-resolution monitors.
